June 26, 27, and 28 - Well we finally made it to mile post “0” on the Alaska Highway!! Chuck and I have been on the road since 13 April and we have already traveled 5000 miles. The weather has been on the cool to cold side and we have had rain most days. The rain is really needed here. We did the usual tourist things, visit museum, buy sweatshirts from mile “0”, and take a tour of the area. We traveled to Chetwynd, BC to view some chain saw carvings. Following is some of my photos.

Next to the visitor center was this elevator - an art gallery

The Army Corps of Engineers built this timber bridge as part of the original Alaska Highway. It is the only one still in use. What makes this timber bridge so unusual is that it is curved.
Kiskatinaw Bridge
Looking over the edge of the bridge we saw this beaver below
Flowers in bloom
Aminal tracks
Along the road we spotted this 30ft. tall Lumberjack
Waterfalls
Today with the clouds and weather this area looks much like the Smoky Mountaing area
